Over the years, the desire for a MOTHER 3 localization has had an incredible influence on social media. We’ve seen the game trend time and time again on Twitter,  from hashtag movements or even a corporate shoutout. The freedom that social media gives us allows anyone and everyone to express their love for the game. And when we say everyone…we mean everyone. This is where American actor Terry Crews comes in! 

You may know Crews best as the iconic star of the Old Spice commercials, but he’s actually has a much wider influence than that. Believe it or not, he’s been the main star in a video game before too, performing the role of Isaiah Jaxon in Crackdown 3. So, it isn’t far out of the question to see Crews vocalizing his interest for MOTHER 3 on Twitter by demanding Nintendo “LOCALIZE MOTHER 3!” However, what is it that differentiates Crew’s acknowledgement over others?

That’s where the magic of the Old Spice Collaboration Team comes in. Ever since Crews’ starring role in those Old Spice commercials, many highly talented animators and composers have remixed Crews’ classic Old Spice ads as music videos. Over 60 of these creators came together as the Old Spice Collaboration Team to create the newest collaborative effort in this music video-making community: “THE POWER OF TERRY.” This video celebrates 10 years of Terry Crews’ Old Spice role and features a short tribute to MOTHER 3. Familiar iconography can be seen, like the Sunflower Fields and Master Porky’s throne room. It’s really a labor of love, and the fact that Terry Crews stars in it makes it a whole lot more special.
