MOTHER 3 N64 Enemies

On this page you can find a collection of enemies that were in the ill fated MOTHER 3 N64. All of these enemies were designed by an artist named Toshinao Aoki, who was commissioned for the project. With each enemy you can find a description, which is based on information provided at the time in press materials!

(Editor’s Note: Any enemy labeled with an asterisk (*) indicates an unofficial name.)

General Enemies

Emigre

The ecosystem and nature of this mammal is shrouded in pure mystery. The only thing really known about it is the “Emigre Milk” it produces is highly valued by the people of Tazmily, and will sell for a good price.

Bookir

The Bookir is an animal that lives near bodies of water. Although they’re on the verge of extinction, they still risk heading into town. Its winter-environment form is a “Snow Bookir.”

Rolly

A creature with a face that nearly resembles a human being. It lives in the dimly lit forest and moves by propelling it’s rotund body forward.

Oranga

Oranga is said to have acting skills far superior to that of an average human.

Otto

When it crawls along the ground it seems like a normal crocodile. But when it attacks, it lifts it’s upper body with it’s long hands as seen here!

Bihito

A lot of pent up anger causes the Bihito to be extremely aggressive. It will not hesitate in attacking it’s prey.

Camopus

A creature that’s very similar to a platypus named a “Camopus.” Since it has the ability to blend into it’s environment, I think that might be the best name for it?

Yadogarin

The Yadogarin are native inhabitants of the Sunshine Forest. Their natural pose is hailed as “majestic”, while their decorative shells are popular collectables among the citizens of Tazmily. Every year during the summertime, they tend to migrate in packs. However, their numbers are declining recently due to strange happenings in the forest.

Capybara

Capybaras are common livestock among the farmers of Tazmily. Every so often, a curious Capybara will escape with great ambitions of seeing the rest of the Nowhere Islands. It won’t hesitate to put up a fight for it’s freedom, but maybe it’s best to have a heart and go easy on it?

Flying Rat

A peculiar rat with insect wings that has a tendency to attack villagers and livestock. It flies around the sky emitting a distinct “gee-gee” crying sound. It’s about 40 centimeters in length, with the villagers of Tazmily developing a special mousetrap to hopefully solve the concerning increase of sightings!

Shrill Snake

This rattlesnake lives up above in the baobab trees in Shimedori Forest. Be careful when you see it shake it’s tail, because it’ll make an ear piercing sound that’ll make you wish you were deaf like grandma.

Shipopo

A distinctive species of hippos that inhabit the lakes of Shimedori Forest.

Suspicious “Drago?”*

This creature resembles a friendly Drago, but has a much sinister looking face. It’s true nature is unknown, but considering it saved Richie and Nichol from getting lost in the forest, it may not truly have harmful intentions.

Cyborg Zombie*

Recently sightings of the undead have been found in the decrepit Sunset Cemetery. However, their true nature is unknown, with mysterious metal parts planted into their bodies…

Rhinocerbirds

A strange chimera that’s a cross between a rhinoceros and some type of yellow bird. It can be found roaming the Sunshine Forest.

“That”

There is no creature in MOTHER 64 as terrifying or ferocious as “That!” Wait…you don’t know what “That” is?! It’s a vicious insect seen flying around Tazmily that has a habit of picking fights with children. Oh, the agony!

Jumbo

The Jumbo is a toucan-like enemy. It has adapted to live in both tropical and winter environments. Its winter-environment form is a “Snow Jumbo.”

Venomous Snake

A red snake enemy commonly encountered in the Spaceworld demo. Not much is known about it, with EXCELSIOR claiming those who played the demo were mistaking them for “Poison Worms.”

Pigmask Army

Pigmask Private

A low class soldier in the Pigmask Army. They don’t wear much for armor and their exposed underwear leaves little to the imagination.

Pigmask Sergeant

When it comes to their position in the Pigmask Army, they’re middle of the road. Nothing to squeal about nor be ashamed of – as all that matters to them is their handy spear! You’ll find a few variants of these scoundrels, dressed up for the cold weather or in camo to blend in the depths of the forest.

Pigmask Lieutenant

A red clad Pigmask that’s incredibly prideful of it’s stature; as evident from it’s stylish pose that reflects a similar energy to John Travolta! Unlike it’s lower class brethren, it wields a scimitar.

Pork Tank*

A standard tank in the Pigmask Army’s arsenal. It may have a cute face, but it sure does pack a punch.

Inferior Tank*

A dainty lil’ tank that’s so inferior that it’s relegated to back up.

Supreme Tank Z

When a regular ol’ tank isn’t gonna cut it, the Pigmask Army calls in their “Supreme Tank Z!” This bad boy will tower far above any threat with it’s intimidating height. It may look goofy driving around with it’s bouncy nose, but you won’t be laughing once it sneezes a cannonball into your face.

Burly Pigmask*

This guy does a lot of push ups and sit ups, and drinks plenty glasses of juice to keep up his ideal physique. You’ll find that he has a few trainees who follow in his routine.

Other

Mecha Drago

A friendly Drago that’s been tampered with to become part cyborg. What kind of tragedies could be hiding within it’s story…?

Great Scale Kraken*

A two headed Kraken that terrorized voyagers out at sea, and eventually made it’s way to Great Scale Village. It has a goofy looking face and body that resembles a starfish, but it’s appetite is as ferocious as a shark.
