Lucas is a sensitive, introverted child who spends most of his time playing with the Dragos and animals in the Sunshine Forest. He is the son of Hinawa and Flint, relying much on his mother’s encouragement and father’s wise words. He has a tight bond with his twin brother Claus, who leads Lucas on many adventures involving swimming in the nearby beach and scuffling with the mole crickets.

When compared to his twin brother Lucas, Claus is a more extroverted and impulsive individual, frequently finding himself in trouble. Like his brother, Claus spends much of his time playing with the animals living in the Nowhere Islands and usually encouraging Lucas to be more relaxed.

The earnest husband of Hinawa and father of the two twins. He is well-respected in Tazmily, being the first person people come to with their problems. While Flint may be short for words due to his complicated emotions, he always has his family and friends’ safety in mind. When not spending time with his family, Flint can be found tending to his sheep in his farmhouse.

The beloved family dog Boney is the epitome of the expression “man’s best friend”, always sticking by his owner’s side in the toughest of situations. He is loved by all the residents of Tazmily, truly making a spectacle of himself when chasing birds in the town square. Boney expresses a lot of intelligence through his inner thoughts, giving insight to a gentle personality with a shade of playful sarcasm.

Among the most admirable residents in Tazmily Village is Flint’s wife Hinawa, who has a selfless mindset and charming sense of humor. Hinawa is an anthophile who enjoys decorating the village with her favorite flowers, two of them being gerberas and sunflowers. She is also well-regarded for her cooking, Lucas and Claus being most fond of her cheese omelettes. Like her husband Flint, Hinawa’s greatest concern is the safety of her children, which she would be willing to do anything to protect.

The son of the elusive master thief Wess, who he lives within the eastern section of Tazmily. Duster has an unkempt appearance with scraggly hair, a limp in his right leg, and poor hygiene. Although he may have these concerning traits, Duster is an honest, kind-hearted man who has never stolen a thing despite his occupation as a thief. He tends to wander around the village at night; what sort of things does Duster witness during these hours that most people don’t see?

The abandoned castle of Osohe is home to Princess Kumatora, a crude, tomboyish girl with a “hick” accent. Her home was once a proud kingdom ruled by King Osohe and Queen Senaka, but Kumatora is all that remains of that royal lineage. She lives in isolation, unbeknownst to the Tazmillians, with only Wess being aware of her existence.

Salsa is a meek little monkey with a great talent for mimicry and somersaults. His greatest companion is his girlfriend Samba, the two being an inseparable couple until one day they were torn apart by the Pigmask Army, who captured them from their natural habitat.

Don’t pass off Wess as an unreliable, weak old man. He may be one of the wisest people in Tazmily, honing resourceful thievery skills and techniques while also having great insight into the town’s history. Although he is respectably quite adept, he isn’t the most considerate of people, as he doesn’t treat his son Duster in the most encouraging manner. Leading up to the events of MOTHER 3, Wess began feeling an odd sensation that desperate times were near…could his creeping premonitions come true?

A mystical group of androgynous beings scattered around the Nowhere Islands. They have little concern for human life, as they spend their time discussing amongst themselves over a cup of tea.

Tonda Gossa! That’s the motto of this radical rock band sweeping the Nowhere Islands with their rockin’ tunes. Their leader is alto sax player O.J., followed by Baccio on drums, Shimmy Zmizz on keyboard, Magic on electric guitar, and lastly, Lucky on acoustic bass.

Alec, the loving father of Hinawa, is one who is not afraid to crack a joke in an ugly situation. It’s clear where Hinawa gets both her sense of humor and her genuine consideration for other people. Alec possibly has more connections to the many inhabitants of the Nowhere Islands than anybody else around. Alec lives far up the mountain of Oriander beyond the Sunshine Forest, where he raises many different breeds of animals.

One fateful day, an unidentified flying object was spotted soaring above the clouds, foreshadowing the dreadful events the village of Tazmily would soon experience. This marks the arrival of the mischievous Pigmask Army, who begin to immediately set the forest up in flames.

Though he may put on a charming display of charisma and goodwill in public, Fassad is truly a manipulative individual seeking to accomplish the Pigmask Army’s goal of seizing Tazmily. The kidnapping and exploitation of Salsa is only the beginning of his questionable actions. (Note: In the original Japanese version of the game, Fassad is named “Yokuba”.)
