17 years ago, during the promotion of MOTHER 1+2, Shigesato Itoi posted parts of his “Mr. Saturn Translation Course” on Hobonichi. On September 30th, Itoi began a new series of posts about writing like Mr. Saturn!

Hobonichi posted an image to Twitter that says “The Mr. Saturn Translation Course, back again!” In today’s update, Itoi gives some pointers on writing like Mr. Saturn using sentences that were featured in previous translation contests, and he notes that a new contest will begin in three days (October 3rd) to see who can translate new sentences in the closest way to how Mr. Saturn speaks. These sentences will be announced when the contest begins, but they will only be in Japanese.

Today’s update also notes that Mr. Saturn plushes are also planned to go on sale on Wednesday, October 14th, 11AM JST! Master Belch plushes will be going on sale at that time, too.
