The Hobonichi Mother Project Strikes Back!

They’ve done it again. Today, Hobonichi announced a full set of new and restocked merchandise for the now-legendary Hobonichi Mother Project – And my wallet can’t take it. Please, I can’t keep up…

Launching on July 1st at 11 AM JST/2 AM GMT (or June 30th at 7 PM PT/10 PM ET), the Hobonichi web store will be releasing a new batch of goodies for MOTHER fans to enjoy. A fair number of previously sold out listings are getting restocks as well… including one of their most popular items. I’ll be covering some of the more notable stuff below – From our previous experience these will go fast, so if any of these catch your eye you should grab them while you can!

Ness / SMAAAASH!! 9FIFTY Snapbacks

Flat brims are where it’s at. Partnering with New Era for the classic MLB look, we’ve got our first official Ness hat from Hobonichi. These were announced earlier this month in prep for their July event, but it’s exciting to finally see them hit shelves! I also earnestly really like the SMAAAASH!! design – A more versatile option than the classic red and blue. These kick in at a painful 7,700円 (~$70 USD), so expect to fork over some cash for the quality. Still though, they look pretty dang comfortable!

MOTHER2 Magnet Mascots

Are they plushes? Are they magnets? …Yes! Along with the mainstays (Mr. Saturns, Tendas, a Starman), we’ve also got some new firsts – Rabbit Statue and M2 Ghost plushies! These Magnet Mascots all run at 1,100円 (~$10 USD) with the Starman costing 1,320円 (~$12 USD) due to its size. They’re all too cute for my poor heart to handle, but I especially like the Ghost one myself.

Stoic Club… Member’s Card?

You can’t really capture the true essence of the Hobonichi Mother Project without covering at least one of their weirder items. Tucked away amongst the postcard and plushes, the Stoic Club Member’s Card is a (fake) credit card you can show off at parties as you intellectualize and drink expensive water. The first three sets of numbers represent the release dates of the three MOTHER games respectively, with the fourth set of numbers being random to set you apart from the rest! The back also provides room to enter your name (they recommend you use the name you entered into the game when you played it). The Member’s Card is ironically one of the cheapest items here, at only 550円 (~$5 USD). Don’t tell anyone.

Restocks – Mr. Saturn Plush

The Best Boi(ng!) is back, and he’s still at perfect cuddle size. I don’t have to explain this one much, it’s a Mr. Saturn plush of the highest quality. Look at him, he’s exquisite. The page also goes into detail about how it’s ruining humanity because when you squeeze him you won’t want to do anything else, which… honestly, accurate.

Anyways, this Mr. Saturn Plush is back in stock at 3,465円 (~$32 USD).
